Basic Obedience Training & Behavior Modification

Philosophy: Your relationship with your dog will last a long time. Make that time the best it can be for both human and canine by teaching your dog to be a good citizen with the use of positive reinforcement techniques, desensitization,  and counter conditioning.
Many dogs end up in shelters, or worse yet, euthanized, simply because they were never properly trained and did not learn to live in harmony with their human family.

The Benefits of Obedience Training

The 5 week basic obedience curriculum’s focus is on teaching to owner to teach their dog in the comfort of your own home. The methods used will employ positive reinforcement techniques.  This includes the basic cues of sit, stay, down, come, leave it, door manners, attention, and walking on a leash. You will have the opportunity to address challenges that you may be encountering like housebreaking or puppy mouthing/biting. If you have a puppy, you will be encouraged to properly socialize it to many different real-life situations. Environmental enrichment is also explained and encouraged.
By the end of the obedience course, if you practice daily, you and your dog will be well on your way to a harmonious, positive lifelong relationship!

Behavior modification

Sessions will focus on resolving problems such as jumping, reactivity, fear, aggression, resource guarding, excessive barking and separation anxiety after an initial evaluation and written plan is developed.
